Vince Giovannitti became a member of The Train Collectors Association (Fort Pitt Chapter) in 1968 as member number 68-2158. During that time, Vince amassed a fine collection of pre-war Lionel and Ives trains, and accessories. He took great pride in having all original, along with many hard to find pieces in his collection. He cherished everything he acquired, many of which, were very early pieces.
Vince loved the people aspect of collecting. He valued nothing more than to build relationships among collectors. Over his almost 50 years of collecting, he did just that.
Vince was fortunate enough to be one of the co-authors of Lionel Trains Standard of the World 1900-1943 First and Second editions. He loved working on both books with his fellow friends and co-authors.
